About Us

The Utah Chapter of the NAHB Professional Women in Building designed and constructed a home that was showcased in the 2021 Utah Valley Parade of Homes. The goal of this home was to highlight and utilize women professionals, skilled tradeswomen, and women-owned companies for all stages of the project.

Our design team, comprised of skilled draftswomen, designers and engineers completed plans for a two-story home with approximately 3,200 square feet of living space including a finished basement. The eclectic, contemporary farmhouse style of The House That SHE Built represents the collaboration of the women in our industry and the varied talents and abilities of each.

Strength, courage, grit, determination, balance, color and resilience are all represented within this ambitious project and the women who have been involved in bringing it to life.

The House That SHE Built is constructed in the Wander community in Saratoga Springs UT- a master-planned development by Oakwood Homes- who have served as a partner and major sponsor on the project.

The proceeds from the sale of the home following the Parade will be divided between scholarships, women-run charities, and future home projects like The House That SHE Built. The scholarships will account for 60% of the total profit and will be awarded to women pursuing construction management related degrees or trade school programs. The scholarship fund will be administered by a Utah PWB committee. 20% of the profits will be used by the Utah PWB for education initiatives and future building events. The remaining 20% will be donated to local woman-based charites.Download Marketing Brochure

Who is SHE?

Our design team, comprised of a skilled draftswoman, designers and engineers, has completed plans for a two story home with 3,200 square feet, including a finished basement. The home was based on original plans by Oakwood Homes, as required to fit within the design aesthetic of the Wander community. The home design is centered on functionality for a family, from a woman’s unique perspective. The design does an excellent job of providing for the individual needs of the family by incorporating elements such as a children’s play area downstairs, and serene master retreat, while also including opportunities for the family to gather together and create memories. The eclectic style of The House That She Built represents the collaboration of the women in our industry and the varied talents and abilities of each. Strength, courage, grit, determination, balance, color and resilience are all represented within the design.
