ALISON SIMPSON - Vice President

ENGINEER | ACUTE ENGINEERING

Alison first got involved in the home-building industry through a position at Acute Engineering during her undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, and what began as a simple summer job at a structural engineering firm quickly turned into a passion for residential construction and design. She has since earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a master’s degree in the same with an emphasis in structural engineering, participated in the research and development of seismic design criteria for structural timber frames, and become a licensed professional engineer. She is now part-owner of the firm where her passion for engineering and construction first began, and she loves playing a part in projects that will ultimately become such an integral part of others’ lives. Alison specializes in light-frame construction, timber frame design, and ICF structures, and is thrilled to have The House That She Built be her fourth project featured in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes.

NATALIE MILES - Secretary

SENIOR DESIGNER | Natalie Miles Design

While Natalie has expertise in all aspects of interior design, her forte is in new construction, specializing in exterior design. She often works on homes being sold for millions of dollars, and helps guide her clients through the process of making the best selections for their home from stone to siding to metal details and roofing. She works throughout the state of Utah and has been awarded “Best Interior Design” several times by the Salt Lake County Parade of Homes. Additionally Natalie has been identified as one of Utah’s “Best Designers” in several regional publications.

KATIE JOHNSON - Treasurer

LENDER | ROCK CANYON BANK

Katie Johnson currently serves as a consumer construction lender for Rock Canyon Bank, covering the entire Northern Utah area. She enjoys helping people through the process of building their dream home. In her position as their lender she gets to be an advocate and support system for them during what is likely to be the largest purchase of their lives. She also helps them monitor their overall finances and takes the fear out of the process so that they can concentrate on enjoying their beautiful new home. Prior to joining Rock Canyon Bank, Katie was the Rural Community Development and Outreach Coordinator for Women’s Issues. She spent 15 years in the non-profit world as an advocate for Women in Utah. She worked with women convicted of drug crimes, and quickly realized that creating a safe community for them was the best path to rehabilitation and prevention. Katie worked to ensure that women’s voices were being heard as community leaders at the local, state and Federal level. She also worked to reduce sexual and domestic violence against women by developing a healthy relationship between community leaders and resources, allowing access to free and confidential support. Katie’s work in this field has continued to feed her passion and advocacy for organizations like Professional Women in Building, which has been a perfect way to blend her two careers. Katie and her husband have an 11 year old daughter and 3 dogs.

STEPHANIE SHARP - PWB Past President

BUILDER | STEVEN DAILEY CONSTRUCTION

Stephanie Sharp grew up in a construction family- heading out to jobsites after school and on weekends with her dad, Steven Dailey, as a young girl. However, always one to want to blaze her own trail, Stephanie decided to pursue a degree in architecture versus joining the family business after high school. She worked for an architectural office for over 10 years before deciding that an office job wasn’t a fit. She joined Symphony Homes, a high end production builder and started learning everything she could across departments and disciplines. After gaining substantial institutional knowledge from a larger scale builder, and proving that she could stand on her own in the industry, Stephanie decided to return to work with her father at Steven Dailey Construction Inc. Their company, based in Draper UT, specializes in custom residential homes and remodel work. Stephanie wears many hats as a small business owner, where she is on track to take over for her father to lead the company. She handles everything from take offs and estimating to running the office and construction projects in the field. An all-around construction professional- she understands both the backend business and can throw on a tool belt to help install finish carpentry. Stephanie’s passion for construction lead her to want to get involved in the HBA and PWB. She holds her Utah Real Estate License and General Contractors License.

KRISTIN SMITH

ALTIUS MORTGAGE | PWB CHAIR 2018 & 2019 | FOUNDER OF THE HOUSE THAT SHE BUILT

I started PWB in Utah because I think great things are accomplished when women join together to lift and raise each other up under a common thread. In this space I’m surrounded by so many amazing women contributing to our industry. It’s important to me that we assist each other in being the best and doing the best we can for our industry. Also, this being a mostly male dominated profession, I think it’s important for the women in our industry to have a safe place to come with questions, concerns, and like mindedness to what issues and wins they maybe having. I also want to see women empowered to live their dreams to the fullest. If this group assists in that, or gets anyone just an inch closer, I’ll be ecstatic!

I’ve been in the mortgage industry for 15 years. I absolutely love assisting clients in getting them in the home of their dreams! It’s what makes me jump out of bed in the morning. My husband and I have 5 amazing children! I’m a lucky girl in that I also get to work with my husband every day! He is also an experienced loan officer and shares my same passion for helping people. When I’m not working and running kids around, I like to work on specialty cakes and cookies for friends, family and clients. We are also avid adventurers! We love getting into the mountains whenever possible.

PIERRETTE TIERNEY

VP BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT | MAGLEBY CONSTRUCTION | PARK CITY AREA HOMEBUILDER ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT 2019 & 2020

She quickly climbed the management ranks in public homebuilding, most recently serving as Division President for Taylor Morrison’s Bay Area operations. In her career, she has overseen the development and implementation of well over 200 masterplan, active adult, high-density and luxury home communities. In 2016, she and her husband, Matthew Magleby, decided to take their industry experience and apply it to the family business at Magleby Construction, a professional custom construction firm in the Mountain West. She now oversees business development, marketing, branding, strategic growth opportunities, and runs Park City operations. Pierrette also serves as the first female President of the Park City Area Homebuilders Association.
